Calling all pre-school kids (and their parents) who love airplanes! The museum is starting a weekly drop in program for children ages 2 to 6.

“We noticed that we were getting a lot of younger kids to the museum and we really didn’t have a lot for them,” says AAM Programs Coordinator Ellie McKown. “A lot of kids love airplanes and we’d love to bring them in.”

The program will be held weekly on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 beginning April 19, and will include crafts, songs, games, and a bit about flight and aviation history, geared to a pre-school audience. No registration is required. The drop-in program is free with regular admission and will include parents and guardians in the fun.

McKown says she is working with volunteers to develop different programs, so each week will be interesting for those who attend regularly. The museum is also looking at expanding the drop-in program if there is enough demand to hold them more than once a week.

Stop by with your little ones and let them see how History Takes Flight at the Alberta Aviation Museum.
