Whether your passion is sleek jets, like our CF-104 Starfighter, a vintage Vickers Viking bush plane, or soaring with the eagles in a slick glider, you can get up close and personal with your favourite flying machine during Open Cockpit Day this Saturday at the Alberta Aviation Museum.
It’s our third annual event devoted to allowing our visitors access to many of our iconic aircraft that are not normally open to the public.
Dress up like your aviation heroes, in a hard-shell helmet worn by jet pilots or a sheepskin-lined leather coat and flying goggles like early aviators who opened up the north.
Meet “Linus the Parachute Pup,” paint a smiley face on our replica Hawker Hurricane World War II fighter. Fly our unique DC-6 simulator, check out modern and vintage fire trucks, classic military vehicles and more.
We’ll even have the Edmonton Inn on site with hot dogs and pop to keep your hunger at bay.
Edmonton, get ready to soar at Open Cockpit Day 2017! More details here.
When: Saturday September 23, 11 am to 3 pm
Where: Alberta Aviation Museum, 11410 Kingsway NW
