More than 150 people attended our first-ever Blatchford Boogie Woogie. And they danced up a storm.
Forties-era music from the 19-piece C-Jam Big Band filled the historic Hangar 14. During the intermissions the Mad Cat Swing dance group, from the Sugar Swing Ballroom, put on a stellar performance. They also held an impromptu dance class to hone the skills of the novice swing dancers in attendance.
Our thanks to Marketing and Events Coordinator Zena Conlin, and the students from MacEwan University’s Cultural Arts and Cultural Management Program, Amber Neitz, Amanda Park, Kerri Sanderson and Sam Waterworth, The four helped organize the event as part of their course work. (You can read more about their involvement here.) Definitely A+ work.
To answer the question many have asked, “Are we going to hold it again next year?” The answer is a resounding, “Yes.”
If you missed it, the pictures tell it all. If you were there, we hope these images will help you relive a very enjoyable and successful night for the Alberta Aviation Museum.
