Become a Volunteer
The Alberta Aviation Museum has amassed one of the largest collections of historic aircraft for any aviation museum of its size. But it would never have succeeded without the legions of volunteers who have devoted tens of thousands of hours over the past 20 years.
Not only have volunteers spent countless hours on the meticulous restoration of our iconic aircraft, but they have also given their time to fundraise, served on the board of directors, helped out in the library and archives, led guided tours, and more.
However, there is still much work to do! Our revitalization project crew is busy building curbs and redesigning the ‘story islands’ that will surround each aircraft to better tell the stories of those who flew the machines into history.
Restoration work is also getting underway with a number of new aircraft projects.
Volunteering at the Alberta Aviation Museum offers prospective museum professionals the unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience in archival work, historical interpretation, education programs, and library science.
If you would like to join our volunteer team and get an up close and personal experience with Edmonton’s aviation history, please fill out the Volunteer application form.
