Preserving Aviation History

The Alberta Aviation Museum is dedicated to preserving local aviation history and the artifacts that tell these fascinating stories. Our archival collection contains thousands of documents, photographs and objects relating to Blatchford Field and local aviation history.

Our collection spans the early 1900s up to the present, documenting significant individuals, businesses, aircraft, as well as the broader social and economic history of aviation in Alberta. Our main focus is on artifacts that pertain to the history of Blatchford Field and aviation in Edmonton.

In addition to aircraft, we have an extensive collection of uniforms and insignia. Our digital photograph collection, which consists of over 200,000 images, is currently under development to allow online access for researchers.

For assistance with archival research, contact our Museum Curator. To donate artifacts, please consult our donation guidelines below before sending an email to the curator with a detailed description of the item(s) and images.
